Breathing- All you need to know

 BREATHING IN A NUTSHELL

Breathing is simply the process of moving air into and out of the lungs to facilitate gas exchange with the internal environment. Its main purpose is to  flush out carbon dioxide and bring in oxygen.

The breathing process is aided by a large dome-shaped muscle under the lungs called the diaphragm. When you breathe in, the diaphragm contracts downward, creating a vacuum that causes a rush of fresh air into the lungs.

DO YOU KNOW THE NAMES OF ANY  OTHER STRUCTURES INVOLVED IN BREATHING🤔?

Inhalation (inspiration) and exhalation (expiration) are the processes by which the body brings in oxygen and expels carbon dioxide.

When the lungs inhale, the diaphragm contracts and pulls downward. At the same time, the muscles between the ribs contract and pull upward. This increases the size of the thoracic cavity and decreases the pressure inside. As a result, air rushes in and fills the lungs.

The second phase is when the lungs exhale, the diaphragm relaxes and the volume of the thoracic cavity decreases, while the pressure within it increases. As a result, the lungs contract and air is forced out.

DID I MISS ANYTHING OUT???💬🙆
